EXHAUST HOT END

In a general context of increasingly stringent exhaust emission regulations, automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers are developing more and more effective systems to post treat exhaust gas. CAILLAU is taking a leading role to offer to its demanding customers state of the art exhaust connections. Thanks to the unrivalled creativity of its engineers, CAILLAU develops tailor-made solutions to improve performance, durability, weight, and compactness while improving assembly conditions.

CAILLAU proposes several solutions for exhaust systems:

CAILLAU standard 90° V band clamp CVS^® (bi-conical).
Pre-positioned CVS^®, integrating a gasket to allow pre-installation on flared pipe or flange.
CVS^® 6U, 6TU, 6HU, 6IU: 40° V band clamps.
CVS^® P, PU: large diameter belly band & V-band clamps.

In order to comply with new emissions regulations, some OEMs integrate aftertreatment systems (EGR and SCR).

In order to support customers looking for increasingly performing solutions and to meet new standards regarding EGR & SCR systems, CAILLAU offers a wide range of technical solutions. EGR clamps ensure a tight fitting interface between two metal pipes. Often, they are combined with a gasket to further improve connection tightness.

COOLING SYSTEM

Whether for internal combustion engines, hybrids or battery-operated vehicles, cooling systems play a key role to regulate engine and battery temperature.

CAILLAU designs and produces solutions to tolerate an extremely wide range of temperatures. Our clamps maintain tightness at low temperature and compensate for rubber shrinkage while generating high clamping forces.

LOW PRESSURE AIR INTAKE

Air intake systems are mainly made of plastic/TPU/rubber hoses. CAILLAU offers two main solutions for hose connections:

CLIC^® R is a perfect fit solution proven by numerous OEMs, that offers many benefits compared with a screw clamp.
NEMO^® & NEMO^® BE: 9 mm wormdrive clamps that offer unrivalled performance. NEMO^® BE feature a spring function that compensates for rubber compression set and temperature shrinkage of rubber hose.

APPLICATIONS

HIGH PRESSURE AIR INTAKE

Automotive charged air systems are made of injection/blow moulded ducts, metal pipes and sensitive rubber hoses. CAILLAU proposes both non serviceable solutions (to connect module subcomponents together) and serviceable clamps to connect charged air duct modules to the engine.

VISA^® E, non serviceable solution: spring loaded hose clamp ensuring a predetermined clamping force.
NEMO^® BE, serviceable solution: wormdrive clamp featuring a spring function that compensates for rubber compression set and temperature shrinkage of rubber hose. This 9mm clamp offers unrivalled clamping performance.

FUEL SYSTEM

CAILLAU proposes optimized solutions to connect the complete fuel system including fuel tank, fuel lines, pump & filter, injectors, and fuel filler lines.

For fuel filler pipes, VISA^® is a particularly relevant solution offering premium performance with optimized cost and reduced assembly time.
CLIC^® and CLIC^® R are particularly suitable to connect small rubber hoses to plastic/metal tubes. They offer high clamping force, compact design, fast assembly and optimized cost. CLIC^® R is also used to connect fuel filler pipes.

APPLICATIONS

ELECTRIC AND HYBRID VEHICLE

Most of CAILLAU’s hose solutions are already successfully applied on electric vehicles (EVs, HEVs, PHEVs). Our exhaust solutions are also applied on hydrid vehicles. Additionally, CAILLAU’s R&D teams are constantly developing new solutions to address arising technical challenges both on battery or fuel cell vehicles.
